Take the Amtrak across the US and visit friends and family in various American cities – not to mention see some awesome sites.
We got the coach class “USA Railpass”. We sleep on comfortable chairs and carry our own food (just to be economical) – thats THE deal.
So we went shopping – chips, tea, dry fruits, apple sauce, chocolate bars, madeleines, cheerios… you name it, we got it. Eventually 2 duffle bags of snacks.
Next came water – so we got an electric kettle and two large water bottles. Finally thin foldable blankets, small backpacks, some books, playing cards, and cheap entertainment.
Now we are ready to roll the dice and see where it takes us.
